Programs & Projects
The Commission has several programmes and projects. The programmes and project development is in informed by the aspirations and the development objectives of the EAC Partner States and research-evidence base. The Sectoral Council of Ministers for Lake Victoria (SECOM) and Regional Policy Steering Committee (RPSC) provide oversight and guidance to ensure effective coordination and implementation. These programmes and projects include: Lake Victoria Environment Programme (LVEMP II) sponsored by World Bank, Lake Victoria Water and Sanitation Programme Phase two (LVWARSANII) supported by African Development Bank (AfDB), Population, Health and Environment (PHE) and Planning for Resilience in East Africa through Policy, Adaptation, Research and Economic Development (PREPARED). The last two programmes are supported by USAID.
Also, Lake Victoria Basin Commission has programmes and projects in pipelines: Lake Victoria Integrated Water Resources Programme (LVIWRM), Lake Victoria Multinational Maritime, Transport and Communication Programme and Regional Climate Change Adaptation Programme.
